OOC Rules
- No harassment of any kind. It is your responsibility to keep your opinions of other people private. Keep all conversations as civil as possible.
- No griefing.
- Do not abuse bugs, report them.
- Do not ask any staff to check appeals or applications unless it has been at least 1 week.
- No hate speech or trolling. Read the room regarding what makes people uncomfortable discussion or word wise then drop it. This will generally be left with a warning unless it is an extreme case.
Roleplay Rules
- No powergaming.
- No metagaming.
- Do not avoid RP. Building should not be taken in-character but you will be called upon to stop building and react accordingly.
- Keep all roleplay content PG-13. You should not do erotic roleplay, extreme torture, and sexual assault. "Fading to black" can not happen to characters under the age of 18.
- Be setting appropriate. No famous person names or skins. Your skin must also be appropriate to the setting and race you are playing.
- Captured characters may only be captured for 24 hours, afterwards they must consent to an extension. If the player has not logged in to do key roleplay such as interrogations or executions, you may ask staff for an extension as well.
- Stealing from another character must be observed by staff.
- Build realistically and according to the setting. Do not leave floating trees or scar the land.
Properties
- Please limit one housing and one business property per character in Highcliffe.
- Do not merge two properties together in Highcliffe by tearing down the wall without asking.
- Inactivity of 30 days will open your property to someone else.
Server Etiquette (Will not result in punishment)
- Do not hold long or off-topic conversations in LOOC during events or large gatherings.
- Do not take in-character actions OOC. Maintaining the belief that the player and character are different is important to the servers immersion and encourages more players to play complex characters.
- Keep entities like armor stands, item frames, and model furniture to a reasonable amount in your property. This is mostly a common sense rule and remember that it may affect the graphical performance of others.
Character Death
There are two ways for characters to die permanently, Bold Actions and Marks of the Bold. Bold Actions are actions chosen by the character that would be considered suicide, you will be warned if the characters action is a Bold Action and you may or may not succeed. Succeeding the Bold Action may reward the character immensely.
If your character receives a Mark of the Bold it means they have been far too bold and next death will be permanent. This includes picking too many fights for petty reasons, fighting new characters constantly, etc. The Mark mostly serves as a punishment more than anything.
Note that both of these are rare, do not expect to see them too often.
